Chennai: One of the initial members of the DMK and former Minister A Rahman Khan passed away today.
According to sources, he tested positive for Covid-19 recently and was admitted to a private hospital. He sufffered a massive cardiac arrest this morning and passed away, they added.
DMK president M K Stalin and other leaders have condoled Rahman Khan’s demise.Ā A well known orator, Rahman served as Minister for Labour and later as Revenue Minister. He was a close friend of former Chief Minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi.
He contested in Assembly elections eight times and was elected three times from the Chepauk constituency in 1977,1980 and 1984. He was elected from the Park Town constituency in 1989 and Ramanathupuram in 1996.
