Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today said the spread of Covid-19 can be controlled only if people cooperated with the government.
Speaking to the media, he said, “the livelihood of people has been affected dueto the pandemic. The government has been taking all steps to check coronavirus spread. But, the efforts can succeed only with the support of the general public. I request people to follow all safety precautions,” the Chief Minister, who was on a tour to districts to review Covid-19 measures, said.
Palaniswami on Thursday reviewed the measures taken to eradicate Covid-19 infection in Dharmapuri district, inaugurated 20 projects worth Rs 15.91 crore and laid foundation stone to 117 projects undertaken by various departments at a cost of Rs 69.90 crore in the district.
He said that the recent spike in Covid-19 cases was due to returnees from other States, districts and countries.
Palaniswami claimed that no farmer was affected due to the pandemic and the district was flourishing because the State government shared a friendly relationship with farmers.
