Chennai: Under Project Puthri, which is aimed at creating career intentionality among girls studying in classes 8-12 in government and aided schools. 40 life skills are being taught to students.
The skills iinclude goal setting, confidence building and critical thinking etc., and these are being taught as classroom activities.
The project was conceived and implemented by Avtarr Human Capital Trust. Rotary Club of Madras East is sponsoring the programme in five schools, namely, Chennai Higher Secondary School, Maduvankarai, Chennai Higher Secondary School, Taramani, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ashok Nagar, Government Higher Secondary School, Thoraipakkam and RKM Sarada Vidyalaya, Kannammapet.
The project for academic year 2020-21 was virtually inaugurated recently by Murugavel Selvan, president, Rotary Club of Madras East in the presence of Dr Saundarya Rajesh, managing trustee, Avtar Human Capital Trust.
Heads of various schools, faculty and students and office bearers and members of Rotary were present.
