Chennai: Coming down heavily on the DMK and ‘divisive forces’, BJP national president J P Nadda has said Tamilnadu has become a ‘shelter’ for anti-nationals.
Addressing the BJP State executive committee meeting through video conference, he said the State administration and the DMK were giving shelter to people working against the interests of the nation.
“We all know that DMK has always been inciting the feelings against the national spirit and they have been anti-development by coming out with issues which are not in the interest of the nation,” he said.
He added: “There are people who are working against the interest of the nation and they are being provided shelter in Tamilnadu. I would like to certainly specify here that the administration and the political parties should be on an alert to see to it that divisive forces do not get strength in Tamilnadu. We have to give a befitting reply to such forces which have been working in the direction which are not in the interest of the nation.”
Hailing Tamilnadu as a land of revolutionaries and home to world-renowned entrepreneurs and industries of various kinds that contribute to the nationâs growth, he said, “The administration and political parties in the state should be vigilant against divisive forces to ensure that they donât gain strength.”
Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi he said the Prime Minister led from the front in the fight against Covid-19. “He took a very bold decision to prepare the county to fight the pandemic and make the health system robust. There was no dedicated Covid-19 facility when the lockdown began but now there are more than 1500 dedicated Covid-19 hospitals in the country,” Nadda added.
