Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple opens doors for devotees

Thiruvananthapuram: Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple in Kerala was opened for devotees this morning. The temple has remained closed since 21 March due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases, but now the temple will open adhering to strict protocols which include booking online darshan through the temple’s website.

In a statement, the temple administration said Darshan will be allowed from 8 am to 11 am in the morning and 5 pm to till the time of Deeparadhana in the evening. Covid-19 security measures will be in place during Darshan.

Devotees have to do online registration one day prior to darshan and to keep a copy of registration form and original Aadhaar card at the time of temple visit.

“Thirty five persons will be allowed inside the temple at a time and a total number of devotees will be restricted to 665 in a day,” it added.

As per Union health ministry’s guidelines for religious places/places of worship, no physical offerings like Prasad/distribution or sprinkling of holy water, be allowed inside the religious place.
