Mumbai: Many accusations and charges have been leveled against Rhea Chakraborty following her alleged involvement in Sushant Singh Rajputās death case.
In the latest twist, a drug-related investigation has been launched against Rhea Chakraborty based on WhatsApp chats retrieved from her mobile. As the new allegations emerged, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father accused Rhea Chakraborty of ‘poisoning his son’ and demanded her arrest.
“Rhea Chakraborty had been giving my son Sushant poison for a long time, she is his murderer. She and her associates must be arrested without delay and punished,” Sushant Singh Rajput’s father said in a video
Responding to these accusations, Rhea reportedly told a news portal that Sushant always believed in ‘living life king size’ and that it was his idea to make lavish bookings because that’s how he was. She also added that initially, it was only her solo plan to travel to Paris for a fashion brand event. Her travel and accommodations bookings were apparently being made by the company.
Rhea Chakraborty said that she got to know about Sushant Singh Rajput’s mental disorder during their Europe trip in October 2019.
“When we were leaving for Europe, Sushant said that he feel claustrophobic in a flight. He took a medicine, Modafinil, without any prescription. When we reached Paris, he didn’t leave his room for three days. Before the trip, he said that he was very happy. He had told me that he is very excited for the trip as he will show me his true side during our Europe stay. He will walk on the streets and have fun with me which he couldn’t do in India. We were really happy. I was wondering what happened,” she told India Today TV.
Reacting to the drugs angle, Sushant Singh Rajputās family lawyer, senior advocate Vikas Singh, told ETimes, “We had said in the FIR that Sushant was being over drugged but what we meant then was prescription drug. If you have a mental issue and you are prescribed drugs and are given an overdose of that, we thought that was happening because we were all kept in the dark. We didnāt know what all was being said to him but now this looks like hard drugs. This is actually the drug in the normal sense that we understand. This has got the narcotics angle as well, definitely proves abetment to suicide more convincingly; it is definitely a step in that direction to prove abetment to suicide or even murder.”
