Chennai: Tamilnadu School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan today said that if needed private school teachers who lost their jobs due to the impact of Covid-19 will be given temporary jobs in government schools.
He also said that there is no chance of opening schools anytime soon. Schools and colleges across the country are closed since 23 March, two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the nation-wide lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
Admissions for classes 1-10 started in government and aided schools across Tamilnadu on 17 August. Admissions for classes 11 and 12 commenced from 28 August. However, reopening of schools would be considered only after the pandemic comes under total control.
All schools have been directed to give admissions even in the absence of students based on the records submitted by their parents. The government has also directed the schools to admit students even if any of the documents are not available.
