Chennai: As part of its ‘Jet &Save’ water conservation programme, the Rotary Club of Chennai Carnatic has initiated the distribution of brass aerators to 100 families in the city recently.
The project aims to sensitise and build a responsible approach towards conservation of water among the people. Vanitha Srihari, secretary of the club and Rajram MU, director – community development, distributed the aerators.
Further, the club educated the families on the benefits reaped through the use of aerators such as, it helps to cut the water flow which saves 40 litres of water per day and up to 14,600 litres of water in a year. Hence, less consumption of water paves ways for less usage of electricity that is required to pump water to the overhead tanks.
