Chennai: Veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja has put forth certain conditions on behalf of Tamil Film Active Prodicers Association (TFAPATN) to theatre-owners. He said if their requests are not met, producers would be compelled not to release their films in theatres.
In a letter, signed by a host of producers, Bharathiraja wrote, ‘henceforth producers would not pay Virtual Print Fee (VPF) for qube projection. Revenue from theatre advertisements during movie screeings should be shared with producers. Share revenue from online booking charges, introduce hold over process to give more time for movies to run in cinema halls.’
If the conditions are not met, producers cannot release their films in theatres, he said in the letter.
