Mumbai: Actress Rhea Chakraborty’s 13-word message on her t-shirt on Tuesday, as she reached the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in Mumbai and from where she was arrested, has found resonance among several Bollywood actors and celebrities.
The message was: ‘Roses are red, violets are blue, let’s smash the patriarchy, me and you.’
Stars like Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Anurag Kashyap, Shabana Azmi, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda shared the shared the quote on social media in a show of solidarity with Rhea Chakraborty.
Many Bollywood personalities on Tuesday demanded justice for Rhea Chakraborty by posting a quote on smashing the ‘patriarchy’ and a hashtag #JusticeForRhea.
After 14-days of judicial custody, Rhea’s bail plea was rejected by the court on Tuesday. Her father Indrajit Chakraborty took to his Twitter handle to express his disappointment and anger. Replying to a Twitter user’s post about seeking justice for Rhea, Indrajit wrote, “No father can bear injustice on his daughter. I should die”.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday arrested Rhea Chakraborty after questioning her for three days in connection with drugs-related allegations in her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
