Chennai: A notice moved against Tamilnadu Chief Secretary K Shanmugam by DMK MPs at the Lok Sabha will be taken up by the Previlege Committee on 24 September.
The MPs alleged that Shanmugam humiliated and treated the team of MPs badly when they called on him in May.
DMK Parliamentary Party leader T R Baalu had said that Shanmugam treated them without minimum courtesy and humiliated the team of party MPs which called on him at the Secretariat.
The team, led by Baalu, included Dayanidhi Maran, Kalanidhi Veerasamy and Tamizhachi Thangapandian. They met the Chief Secretary to draw the governmentâs attention to the problems during the Covid-19 lockdown “expressed by one lakh people through Ondrinaivom Vaa”, an initiative launched by DMK president M K Stalin.
“Shanmugam did not take into consideration that I and Dayanidhai Maran were Union Ministers for many years and the way he treated us was shocking. He did not accord the reception due to the Members of Parliament. His act is highly condemnable,” Baalu had said in a statement.
