Chennai: There seems to be no improvement in the health condition of veteran singer S P Balasubrahmanyam, who was declared ‘extremely critical’ by doctors late last evening.
Sources said this morning that he is on maximal life support. The condition of the legendary singer, popularly called as ‘SPB’, has deteriorated in the last 24 hours.
On Thursday evening, a bulletin issued by MGM Healthcare, where he was undergoing treatment since 5 August after testing positive for Covid-19, said the singer remains on ECMO and other life support measures.
“His condition in the last 24 hrs has deteriorated further warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical”, the bulletin said.
The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition. Actor Kamal Haasan, who visited the hospital, said, “You can’t say he is alright. He is on ventilator and on maximal life support. He is critical. The family is praying for him.”
