Chennai: With the AIADMK executive committee meeting ending on Monday without finalising the Chief Minister candidate of the party, its coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today held a meeting with his supporters at his residence here.
AIADMK’s joint coordinators K P Munusamy and Manoj Pandian were also part of the meeting. Panneerselvam did not take part in Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s meeting with the District Collectors to review the coronavirus situation.
It may be noted that after the AIADMK executive committee meeting yesterday, Munusamy said that the Chief Minister candidate of the party will be announced on 7 October.
Sources said that heated discussions were held between Panneerselvam and Palaniswami during the executive committee meeting which lasted for close to five hours. As many as 15 resolutions were also passed during the meeting.
