Chennai: Tamilnadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit visited Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in Chennai on Monday evening. He called on him to convey condolences over the recent death of Palaniswami’s mother.
Earlier in the day, Opposition DMK president M K Stalin, BJP State unit president Murugan and other leaders and film personalities called on Palaniswami and personally offered their condolences for the death of his mother Thavusayammal, who passed away last week.
Stalin, accompanied by senior DMK leaders, including Party general secretary Duraimurugan, met Palaniswami at his Greenways Road residence in the city and offered his condolences.
He also paid floral tributes to a decorated portrait of Thavusayammal.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers and leaders of various political parties have already expressed their condolences to Palaniswami following the death of his mother.
