Chennai: There are strong rumours in BJP circles that actress Khushbu Sundar, who recently joined the party by qutting the Congress, would be soon given with a plum post.
“Khushbu will be given due recognition soon,” sources said. Vanathi Srinivasan (50), one of the senior functionaries in the Tamilnadu unit of the BJP was on Wednesday elevated as the president of the party’s women’s wing at the national level.
BJP president J P Nadda appointed Vanathi Srinivasan, an office-bearer of the party’s Tamilnadu wing, to the post.
She had unsuccessfully contested the Tamilnadu Assembly elections. Vanathi will succeed Vijaya Rahatkar as the BJP Mahila Morcha chief.
Rahatkar was recently appointed as a national secretary in Nadda’s new team of office-bearers.
