Chennai: As several people continue to work from home and children attend virtual classes, a sudden shift has been noticed in the family routinewhich has further resulted in chaotic and inconsistent schedules.
This includes a mix of erratic meals, higher screen time, lack of physical activity, anxiety, stress and an overreliance on snacking due to easy access and boredom.
Addressing these issues through an online session titled “The importance of ensuring family health and nutrition amidst a pandemic”, actress Janani Iyer and nutrition consultant Madhuri Ruia, focused on three areas of health – proper nutrition and dietary habits, the need to incorporate regular exercise and the importance of self-care during these challenging times.
Janani said, “As we all struggle to adapt to this new sense of normal, and a cure for the disease is still undetermined, I feel it’s important for me to practice adequate preventive measures to ensure my own as well as my family’s safety. You can do this too by incorporating regular exercise and including nutrient rich and immunity supporting foods like almonds to the diet.”
The session was organised by Almonds Board of California. As several families spend most of their time at home during these times, it’s now more important than ever – to reevaluate the family’s nutrition and lifestyle choices, and make the necessary revisions that can add value to every member’s heath.
