Mumbai: The Mumbai police today detained Republic Television editor Arnab Goswami from his Mumbai house in connection with the death of interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik in 2018.
This comes at a times when TRP scam investigation against Goswami is going on in Mumbai.
A report by Republic TV said, “Amidst the mega witch-hunt against Republic Media Network, over a dozen officers of the Mumbai Police on Wednesday reached the residence of Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director Arnab Goswami. The Mumbai Police team, which doesn’t have summons, documents or court papers, has blocked Republic Media Network’s Niranjan Narayanswamy and Sanjay Pathak from entering Arnab’s residence and have sealed all entry and exit points. There are a very large number of Policemen.”
Arnab has been arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 53-year-old interior designer, Press Trust of India quoted a police officer as saying.
The officer said a police team picked up Goswami from his home in Mumbai. The editor claimed he was manhandled by the police and pushed into their van.
