Chennai: Three people, including an eight-year-old boy and his mother, were killed and four injured when a wall collapsed after a domestic LPG cylinder exploded near Tiruvannamalai on Sunday.
The victims have been identified as Kamakshi (38), her son Hemanth (8) and their neighbour Chandrammal (59).
The injured, two of whom sustained burns due to the explosion, have been admitted to Government Vellore Medical College Hospital. The police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
While Chandrammal was killed instantly, the woman and her son died in the Arni Government Hospital. Their house owner Muktha Bhai, who suffered more than 90 per cent burns, and her daughter, have been admitted to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital.
In the impact of the blast, the entire house was damaged and the walls collapsed. The Arni town police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
