Suriya began shooting for Gautham Menon’s short film for their anthology, titled Navarasa. A few weeks ago, Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan announced Navarasa, which brings together nine directors for nine short films.
Navarasa, which will stream on Netflix, is an attempt to raise funds for industry members who lost their livelihood during the lockdown.
Suriya and Gautham Menon have churned out memorable films such as Kaakha Kaakha and Vaaranam Aayiram. However, they had a major fall-out over a project titled Dhruva Natchathiram. Years later, they sorted their differences and are now working on a short film for Netflix.
The shooting of the film commenced today in Chennai. Cinematographer PC Sreeram, who’s cranking the camera for the film, took to Twitter to share the news with Suriya and Gautham Menon’s fans.
He wrote, Shooting for @menongautham – it’s a web film starring Suriya. @Suriya_offl. Great energy on sets today! (sic).
