
Chennai: Tomorrows is 12 December and Rajinikanth turns 70. And this year, his fans have planned mega celebrations as the actor much recently declared that he would enter politics and float his party putting to an end to a long wait.
Meanwhile, the actor today held discussions for the third consecutive day with Tamilaruvi Manian and Arjuna Murthy, important office-bearers of his proposed political party.
Sources say they held detailed discussions about registering the political party with the Election Commission. Also, appointment of office-bearers for the party to be floated was discussed at the meeting at Rajinikanth’s Poes Garden residence this morning.
At various places across Tamilnadu, members of Rajini Makkal Mandram have organised special events for tomorrow that include holding annadhanam, blood donation camps besides the distribution of welfare assistance to the needy. Posters and banners have already appeared in various parts of the city.
Rajinikanth, who generally leaves Chennai on his birthday and urges fans not to visit his house on 12 December, is in Chennai this year.
As fans are expected to come to his house tomorrow and greet in large numbers, security has been tightened at his house. Police personnel has been deployed and barricades have been put at Poes Garden area.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s elder brother Sathyanarayana performed special poojas at Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswarar temple and Arunagirinathar temple for Rajinikanth.
He had said that Rajinikanth has ‘gurukripa’ (grace of the guru). ‘He (Rajinikanth) is a man of his word. He definitely does what he says. He always keeps his word,’ Sathyanarayana added.
Remember a few days ago, Rajinikanth announced that he will launch a political party. On 31 December, he plans to announce a January launch date for the party. Tamilnadu goes to Assembly polls in May 2021.
