The Tamil trailer of Vanguard, directed by Stanley Tong, starring Jackie Chan, Yang Yang, Ai Lun, Mu Qimiya, Xu Ruohan and Zhu Zhengting was released by Madhavan.

The filming locations were in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and in London. In January 2019, Jackie Chan almost drowned while filming a scene involving a jet ski for the film.
The movie has music by Nat han Wang, cinematography by Lee Chi-Wah and editing by Chi Wai You.
