Chennai: The health of actor Rajinikanth, who was hospitalised on Friday following ‘severe fluctuations’ in his blood pressure, is said to be stable.
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, DMK president M K Stalin and actor-politician Kamal Haasan among others have wished a speedy recovery to actor Rajinikanth,
The Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief tweeted in Tamil, “Wishes for Rajinikanth’s speedy recovery”.
Rajinikanth, 70, was in Hyderabad for his latest film ‘Annathe’, but the shoot was cancelled earlier this week after four members of the crew tested positive for Covid.
Although the actor himself tested negative, he reportedly suffered from fluctuations in his blood pressure. Sources said he is stable now and will be discharged today or tomorrow.
A statement from Apollo Hospitals said, “Though he did not have any symptoms of Covid-19, his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital. He will be investigated and monitored closely in the hospital till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged.”
“Apart from fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion, he does not have any symptoms and is hemodynamically stable. He is being monitored closely and medications to control his blood pressure are being carefully titrated,” a hospital report said.
The shoot of ‘Annathe’ commenced at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on 14 December. The makers had created a bio bubble for the cast and crew.
With just seven days left for 31 December when Rajinikanth promised to announce his party and spell out his political strategy, the recent developments have come as a shocker to all.
