Tiruchi: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami was today accorded a warm welcome during his campaign at Tiruchi and Srirangam.
He was given Poorana Kumbha Mariyadhai by the Srirangam Lord Ranganathaswamy temple priests.
Speaking during the election campaign despite rain, Palaniswami said the State government is all set to inaugurate 11 more medical colleges in the State.
“This will add 1,650 more medical seats in the State in which 135 government school students will get seats,” he said.
He also said that farmers should vote for AIADMK in the upcoming Assembly elections.
He also recalled several measures taken by the government during the lockdown. “Free food was provided to the public through Amma canteen during the lockdwon period. The limit of government health scheme has been increased from two lakh to five lakh,” he said.
He added that several waterbodies have got a new lease of life through the Kudimaramathu scheme. “Check dams have been constructed at several locations at a cost of Rs 900 crore,” he said.
