Chennai: Corona Warrior Awards were recently instituted, as a tribute to all the frontline workers, who have worked throughout this pandemic.
A press release said, in accordance to this, GR Events felicitated several police persons, NGOs, doctors, teachers, hospitals, cabin crew, Corporation workers and individuals.
Nawab Asif Ali ( Prince Of Arcot), Pushapalatha (VP Velammal School), Vimala Britto (Producer of Master), Nandakumar IAS , Srimathy Kesan and many others felicitated the ‘warriors’.
The recipients of these awards included Khalid and team who buried 950 Covid bodies, Alert Foundation which supported 198,000 families, Subadra who treated 500 Covid patients in person, Kishore Subramaniam who supported 1.03 lakh people and Dhivya Manutiah who supported 40,634 migrant workers, among others.
The event was supported by Goutam Jain, director of Nowood, and was held at Citi Centre, Chennai.
Sonali Jain and Kashish Jain, directors of GR Events, said, “These ‘warrior’ awards will be held year after year. We thank Chennai City police for their support.”
