Chennai: AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran today said that former Chief Minister J Jayalaithaa’s close aide V K Sasikala will return to Chennai on 7 February.
Speaking to mediapersons at Madurai, Dhinakaran said that Sasikala will guide AIADMK as its general secretary.
“True party cadres and those who are loyal to the party will stay by Sasikala,” he said.
Sasikala, who was released from jail on 27 January, was discharged from the Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru, where she was treated for Covid-19.
From the hospital, she is staying at a farm house on the city outskirts for a week as per doctor’s advise. Victoria Hospital Medical Superintendent Ramesh Krishna K said Sasikala completed 10 days of treatment and had been asymptomatic and maintaining saturation without oxygen support for three days.
Meanwhile, she continued to leave political observers speculating about her post-release political moves, even as the car in which she came out of the hospital sported the flag of AIADMK. This has led to many taking as a possible hint that she was ready to take on the AIADMK from which she was expelled in 2017 after the merger of the two warring factions, one led by Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and the other by Deputy CM O Panneerselvam.
