Chennai: Expelled AIADMK leader and close aide of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s, VK Sasikala, has sought for an appointment with Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami.

According to sources, Sasikala has stated that she would like to express her condolences to the CM on his mother’s demise.

The CM’s mother had passed away in October last year after suffering from a heart attack.

Meanwhile, DMDK treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth has announced that she will be meeting Sasikala on Thursday.

Premalatha had earlier called out the ruling AIADMK, of which the DMDK is an ally, for its delay in commencing seat sharing talks.

‘It is not a big deal for the DMDK to contest in all 234 constituencies. If Captain wants, he can say that the party leaders in charge of the 234 constituencies can contest. We are however being patient and respecting the alliance dharma. I am duty bound to say though that there is a limit to our patience’, she said.

Thursday’s talks between the two high-profile leaders might prove significant, with Assembly polls just a few months away, it is speculated.
