Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today announced that farmers will receive uninterrupted three phase electricity for free for 24 hours.
He made the announcement during his election campaign at Udumalaipet. Sources said that the announcement was made based on the requests made by the agri unions yesterday.
During his campaign yesterday at Tirupur, Palaniswami listed out contributions of AIADMK for farmers, the industries brought in by his government, promised 10,000 free houses for weavers and assured the minority community not to be apprehensive about AIADMK because it has allied with BJP.
He said Muslims need not worry because of the alliance and added that the AIADMK would not give up its policy of minority welfare. He added that this government will continue to work for the welfare of the farmers.
