Chennai: Tamil Maanila Congress president G K Vasan called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. His meeting assumes significance in view of the upcoming Assembly elections in the State.
During his meeting with Shah, Vasan requested him to expedite central government schemes that are being implemented in Tamilnadu.
“The Union Minister informed that the Centre will ensure the welfare of the state,” Vasan said in a statement.
Vasan, who is former Union Shipping Minister, added that he also discussed with Shah regarding the prevailing political scenario, alliance, and the forthcoming Assembly polls.
