Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will today release the new industrial policy of Tamilnadu government, aimed at attracting more investments to the State.
Policy documents will be unveiled on the occasion for major industries and micro, small and medium enterprises.
Also today, the government will sign 28 memoranda of understanding (MoU) for projects envisaging investments around Rs 28,000 crore.
Among the projects is one by Tata Electronics, envisaging an investment of around Rs 5,300 crore in Krishnagiri district and generation of employment opportunities for 18,250 persons.
Recently, the Cabinet cleared the Tamilnadu Industrial Policy. “The incentive packages have been customised to suit the requirement of each investor. In case of some of the investors, the government had already entered into facilitation MoU in order to enable them to do preliminary works,” according to an official release.
It added: “Now, with the Cabinet approval, a detailed and a legally binding MoU will be executed. These special initiatives of the government would lead to further industrial development and generation of more employment opportunities for the youth, particularly during the pandemic period.”
