Puducherry: A wrong translation by Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy about what a fisherwoman said during an interactive session with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday has gone viral on social media.
According to a transcript of the conversation, the woman said: “….No one is supporting us and the sea has been like this. Take the CM for instance…did he visit us even once during the Cyclone? (Nivar)”
Narayanaswamy translated it to: “After cyclone Nivar, I visited the area and provided them relief, she is saying that only.”
Taking a dig at the CM, BJP leader CT Ravi tweeted, “Congress leaders seem to be competing with Rahul Gandhi in telling lies ! Elderly Woman in Tamil: Government did not help us during cyclone. Puducherry CM Narayanaswamy to Rahul: She is thanking me for visiting her during cyclone and providing relief.”
