Chennai: Kumbh Sandesh Yatra recently took off from Vivekananda Centre at Kanyakumari.
According to a press release, the yatra was flagged off by Swami Chaityananand Maharaj, Vivekananda Ashramam, Kanyakumari and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy BJP national co-incharge.
The 25 days yatra is being organised by the Gramodaya Chamber of Commerce and Technology (GCOT), and will cover 5000 kilometres before concluding in Haridwar.
BJP leader Sudhakar Reddy said he would personally extend assistance to make the yatra, which was undertaken for the preservation of our cultural traditions, and would also bring it to the attention of Prime Minister Modi.
President of Haridwar-based Divya Prema Service Mission, Ashish Gautham, said, “Started from Kanyakumari, the Rath Yatra will proceed to all four places where the Kumbh Mela is held including Nasik, Ujjain, and Prayagraj and reach Delhi and later to Haridwar”.
