Chennai: Following the exit of the DMDK from the AIADMK-BJP alliance, multiple theories are doing the rounds about the party’s plan to face the upcoming Assembly elections.
It is said that the party would either align with Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maam or TTV Dhinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam.
Already, MNM had extended an invitation to the DMDK, it may be noted. While DMDK leader Premalatha had offered support to V K Sasikala when she returned from jail.
Meanwhile, there are others who say the Vijayakanth-led party would go it alone in the upcoming polls, to show its ‘power’ to its critics.
After three rounds of discussions, the AIADMK ‘refused to allot the number of seats that were sought,’ the DMDK said.
Soon after, DMDK leaders, including Vijayakanth’s brother in law L K Sudheesh and son Vijaya Prabhakaran, attacked the AIADMK, saying its candidates, led by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, would lose their deposits in the upcoming polls.
