Chennai: Income Tax officials said Rs 11.50 crore was seized and Rs 80 crore unaccounted income was found during the searches at firms owned by a MNM leader.

Meanwhile, Makkal Needhi Maiam founder Kamal Haasan said that politics could be the reason behind the raids conducted at the properties of the party’s treasurer Chandrasekaran.

Raids were held for two days on 17 and 18 March at the properties belonging to Chandrasekar.

Kamal said that he would not be cowed down by such intimidatory tactics. The actor-politician said that he would be the first person to pull up his functionaries if they commit any mistakes. “I will question them. They are answerable,” he said.
