Chennai: Health department officials and healthcare officials have expressed fear that the second wave of Covid-19 would hit Tamilnadu hard if people violate rules.
“Majority of people are not following rules. It is high time to stick to Covid appropriate behaviour. Otherwise, the price that we are going to pay would be heavy,” says a senior officer of the Health department.
According to Dr Raju, a healthcare expert, “this morning, I surveyed people when I was on my way from home to hospital. At least 70 per cent of them are not wearing masks. People should understand the situation. Officials should punish the violators.”
Tamilnadu’s daily Covid-19 infections crossed 1,600-mark Wednesday. The State registered 1,636 new cases, and the total number of inflections has crossed 8.71 lakh.
