Chennai: Expert correction of abnormal electrical circuit of the heart gives permanent cure to ailing patient, according to medical experts.
Doctors under the guidance of Dr Su Thillai Vallal, medical director, Venkataeswara Hospitals, Nandanam, have claimed that they cured a patient suffering from abnormal electrical circuit of the heart.
The patient, they said, presented with history of recurrent bouts of palpitations and he was restless. Studies identified an additional electrical pathway in the heart causing a rapid heart rate. It was generating electrical short-circuiting and additional irregular heartbeats which was interfering with the regular rhythmic contraction of the heart and the patient was getting symptoms of palpitation, giddiness, light-headedness, etc.
A Radio-Frequency Ablation procedure was carried out by accurately placing the RFA catheter over the abnormal electrical pathway fibres and the patient is fine now, they claimed.
