Chennai: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, reacting to Income Tax raids on DMK president M K Stalin’s daughter Senthamarai, came down heavily on the BJP.
“Raiding the opposition is BJP’s coping mechanism when faced with electoral defeat,” he tweeted.
He also slammed the Election Commission, hours after the poll body ordered repolling in Assam’s Ratabari after reports of EVMs in a BJP candidate’s car.
“If the ECI doesn’t wake up even now and remains mute or complicit, it is fatal for democracy,” he said on Twitter.
The Congress on Friday questioned the Election Commission after a BJP candidate’s vehicle was found transporting a polled EVM in Assam’s Karimganj district and said if the poll body does not wake up now and remains ‘complicit’ it will be fatal for democracy.
