‘Chinnanchiru Kiliye’ which translates to ‘My little parrot’, is one of the finest works
by Mahakavi Bharathiyar.
It is a song that describes a motherās unconditional love. This beautiful tune has been recreated in the voice of singer Chinmayi Sripaada who has recreated the lullaby in āragamalikaā, a soothing and lovely raga in music that will cradle oneās senses.
This has been done as part of Duroflex Sounds of Sleep, a digital music series to help new-age parents rediscover famous lullabies from across India in a digitally convenient way.
Says Chinmayi, ‘It is a wonderful initiative to recreate traditional lullabies for young parents. Chinnanchiru Kiliye is a song I have grown up listening to as it is big part of my culture. I have stayed true to its tune as a tribute to legendary Kavi Subramania Bharathi.’
