Chennai: Greater Chennai Corporation has announced 2,600 places as containment zones in Chennai.
Places that have more than six Covid positive cases have been announced as containment zones, it is learnt.
Out of these 2,600 places, 850 streets that have more than ten cases are monitored more keenly.
Officials said that 6,500 streets have been identified to have less than three cases.
The zonal officers of that particular locations along with Health department officials will visit the places daily and review the situation, officials added.
Necessary measures will be taken to ensure that the disease does not spread from the containment zones.
More number of containment zones are located in Anna Nagar, Teynampet, Kodambakkam and Royapuram areas.
