Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin will chair a meeting tomorrow with legislature party leaders who are part of a committee constituted to recommend to the government Covid preventive measures.
According to sources, during the meeting that would take place at the Secretariat at 11.30 am, discussions will be held on extending the existing lockdown, which will end on 23 May.
Based on the recommendations of all party representatives and inputs from healthcare experts and officials, the Chief Minister will take an appropriate decision, sources said.
Stalin recently constituted the 13-member all-party advisory committee of MLAs to fight the Covid. The idea apparently is to bring the collective wisdom of all stakeholders to the table to sharpen the administrative response to the pandemic.
The Chief Minister is the chairperson of this committee. Other members of the committee are: Dr Ezhilan (DMK), Dr C Vijayabhaskar (AIADMK), GK Mani (PMK), AM Manirathnam (INC), Nagar Nagendran (BJP), Susan Thirumalaikumar (MDMK), SS Balaji (VCK), T Ramachandran (CPI), Dr Jawaharullah (MMK), R Eeswaran (KMDK), T Velmurugan (TVK) Poovai Jagan Moorthy (PB) and Naagai Mali (CPM).
