Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin reached Madurai on Thursday night by a special aircraft from Coimbatore. He reviewed Covid-19-related works in the temple city today.
He was welcomed at the airport by Ministers KKSSR Ramachandran (Revenue), I Periasamy (Cooperation), K R Periakaruppan (Rural Development), PTRP Thiagarajan (Finance) and P Moorthy (Commercial Taxes and Registration). Top officials were also present. Mr. Stalin went straight to the Circuit House from the airport. Police had made elaborate security arrangements en route.
Stalin on Thursday launched the Covid-19 vaccination drive for people in the 18-44 age group in Tirupur.
Stalin launched the drive when about 20 employees of various knitwear units in the 18-44 agre group took their first Covishield vaccine jab at the premises of Netaji Apparel Park.
Stalin, who is touring the western region of the State in his first official visit after taking over as the Chief Minister for the first time, also presented the vaccination certificates to the beneficiaries.
Stalin, who reviewed the Covid-19 situation in the region, also accepted petitions and cheques from various industrialists from Tiruppur district.
