Chennai: A total of 486 oxygen concentrators were donated to Tamilnadu through the US–India Friendship Alliance, an affiliate of US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF).
These concentrators were airlifted from Foshan, China to New Delhi, and were brought to Chennai subsequently by air cargo.
Upon the instruction of Chief Minister M K Stalin 50 oxygen concentrators each were moved to the districts of Erode, Tiruppur, Salem and the remaining 336 to Coimbatore district.
“These concentrators will be deployed at various hospitals and Covid care centres in each of these districts,” aaccording to an official release.
The Tamilnadu government has expressed its appreciation for the efforts of US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF).
