Chennai: Former AIADMK Minister M Manikandan, who has been booked for rape based on a complaint lodged by actress Shanthini, has reportedly gone into hiding along with his family members.
It is said that special police teams have been formed to find his whereabouts and to arrest him.
Manikandan has been booked for rape, among other charges, based on a complaint lodged by the actor two days ago.
Apart from Section 376 (punishment for rape), the Adyar All Women Police have slapped Sections 506 (i) (criminal intimidation), 313 (miscarriage without womenâs consent), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC, and Section 67A of the Information Technology Act.
In her complaint, Shanthini of ‘Nadodigal’ fame alleged that Manikandan was in a relationship with her for five years.
She also mentioned that Manikandan had forced her to abort their child when she became pregnant.
She also alleged that she had conceived thrice during their relationship, but he forced her to get an abortion done every time, promising that they would have a baby after getting married.
She also claimed that Manikandan had threatened to release her personal pictures on social media platforms if she didn’t leave the country. She alleged that the former Minister’s aide also threatened her family members.
