Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin has completed one month in office. In the last 30 days, he has been actively monitoring Covid-19 control efforts and made sure the cases are coming down.
Also, the Chief Minister has been busy implementing poll promises including cash assistance to ration card holders and free bus travel for women etc.
Stalin is also taking steps to protect the State’s rights. On Sunday, he said the DMK government would work towards getting all the languages including Tamil, listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, the status of the official language of the union government.
Recalling that on this day in 2004, the Centre announced that Tamil would be declared a classical language following the continued efforts of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Stalin said his party-led government would continue to work to embellish the Tamil language more and more.
On Saturday, he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cancel all national-level entrance examinations including NEET UG 2021.
“Dear Prime Minister Vanakkam, I wish to draw your attention to an urgent issue concerning the future of Class XII students in the State,” Stalin wrote in a letter to PM Modi.
