Chennai: Based on intelligence, one Arulraj Subramanian, 41, of Cuddalore who arrived from Dubai by Emirates flight EK-544 was intercepted at exit by Customs officials at Chennai airport.
On examination of his baggage, one portable juicer was found inside among his personal effects. The juicer appeared to be heavy and on opening one cylindrical gold piece was found concealed in the motor portion of the juicer.
Gold weighing 200 grams of 24 k purity valued at Rs 10 lakh was recovered and seized under Customs Act.
Further investigation is under progress, said Commissioner of Customs, Chennai International Airport.
