Chennai: A 32-year-old man who had recovered from Covid 19 infection in the recent past with associated Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, was diagonised with green fungus.
The patient had complaints of generalised weakness, tiredness, bodyache with symptoms of severe cold and yellowish nasal discharge which was also at times blood stained with peri-orbital pain.
He was diagnosed as a case of Acute Rhinosinusitis (a post- Covid sequelae). Diagnostic Nasal Endoscopy was carried out by the ENT surgeon which confirmed the diagnosis of Fungal Sinusitis.
The patient was treated and cured successfully by a team of doctors of Sri Venkataeswara Hospitals, Nandanam, Chennai, a statement said.
The patient, has now recuperated well and his diabetic status is also well under control with administration of multiple doses of insulin, it added.
