Chennai: Tamilnadu government today set up the State Environment Committee. Sources said that this committee will be responsible for planting tree saplings at public places and also to carry out works related to environment conservation.
Ten people will be part of the State committee and each district will have a committee of six members, the GO added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister M K Stalin is set to visit Tiruvarur district on Tuesday. This is the first time that Stalin will be visiting his father and former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s birth place after assuming office as Chief Minister.
Sources said that Stalin will pay his tributes to his father at his house in Tiruvarur after which he will go to Karunanidhi’s mother Anjugam Ammal’s memorial in Kaattur and pay his respects.
It is said that Stalin will carryout inspection at the Tiruvarur Government Medical College on 7 July.
