Chennai: Various organisations continue with their initiatives to reach out to the needy who are hit by Covid-19. Here is a compilation of some noble gestures.
Basket with love
In association with AkshayPatra, ITC Ltd has launched Care Basket. It is a thoughtfully curated essentials basket which can support the monthly requirements of a family.
Through the pandemic, ITC Ltd and Akshay Patra are committed to support the government and the distressed communities with relief provisions/essentials. To further amplify this initiative they have appealed to the conscious citizens,to come forward and extend support to those who have been impacted during this long pandemic.
Save the children
Tesa has said it is funding additional emergency aid measures for the children’s rights organisation in India, with EUR 250,000.
Since 2020, Tesa and Save the Children stand side by side in the fight against theĀ effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, a statement said and added that already last year, Tesa supported selected projects in six countries on three continents ā India, Vietnam, China, Mexico, Italy, and Germany ā with a donation of 1 million Euro.
Funds to families
Uber has announced a donation of Rs 86 lakh to GiveIndia, Indiaās largest giving platform for supporting families who have lost sole income earners to Covid-19 with a one-time cash grant of Rs 30,000 to help overcome financial distress.
Uberās support was raised through global employee contributions of Rs 49 lakh shortly after India was overcome by a deadly second wave of the pandemic. Uber matched these contributions by adding another Rs 37 lakh for a total of Rs 86 lakh.
