Chennai: Deputy Leader of the opposition and AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and PMK founder leader Dr S Ramadoss have asked the Tamilnadu government to take legal action and prevent Karnataka from building the Mekedatu check dam.
DMDK president Vijayakanth too has made a similar demand. Ramadoss wanted an all-party meet in this regard.
Panneerselvam condemned Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for declaring that his government would go ahead with the Mekedatu dam project in the Cauvery basin.
These developments have come at a time when Yediyurappa has directed officials to prepare the action plan for the Mekedatu project at the earliest.
