New Delhi: In one of the biggest collaborations between intelligence agencies, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), along with the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), busted a new ISIS module case on Sunday.
According to reports, the NIA, with the help of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), swooped down in the Kashmir Valley and carried out massive raids in ten different locations in Anantnag, Srinagar, Awantipora and Baramulla.
Nine suspects were being questioned and five people were held by the agency.Ā Meanwhile, the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a module of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, said to be an auxiliary unit of Al Qaeda, with the arrest of two operatives. The two were planning a series of blasts in Uttar Pradesh around Independence Day, the ATS claimed.
“ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad) UP has uncovered a big terror module. The team has arrested two terrorists linked with Al Qaeda’s Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Arms, explosive materials have been recovered in searches,” senior police officer Prashant Kumar said at a news conference.
He added: “They were planning explosions at important places, memorials and crowded places, and also to use human bombs before August 15 (Independence Day) in different cities of the state, including Lucknow. For this, they were collecting weapons and explosives.”
