Vaccine wastage completely eradicated, says Stalin


Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi that his government has completely eradicated wastage of vaccines, while reiterating his demand for special allocation of one crore Covid vaccines to meet the increasing demand.

In his virutal address at a meeting of Chief Ministers chaired by Modi, he said his government has totally eradicated the vaccine wastage which stood at six per cent.

He said due to the massive awareness created by his government, the requirement of vaccines has increased in the State.

While pointing out that allocation of vaccines for Tamilnadu was low when compared to other states, Stalin urged Modi to specially allocate one crore vaccines as already sought by him, to meet the demand.

Apart from seeking GST relief for Corona related items in view of the prevailing situation, Stalin said his government has taken all preventive measures to face the possible third wave of the pandemic and sought the Union government’s support in this regard.

Stalin also urged Modi to reconsider the Centre’s decision to hold NEET exams this year as it would lead to spread of virus.

Taking into account the fact that schools and colleges were closed in view of the pandemic, holding NEET exams this year would lead to furthr spread of pandemic, he said and urged Modi to reconsider the decision.
